Too Many Toys

I laughed out loud when I saw the title of this book at the library recently. It sounded like an all-too-familiar problem. Spencer's toy collection rivals that of my toddler and preschooler. His mom is fed up with toys on the floor, toys on the bed, toys spilling out of drawers, toys everywhere. She orders him to get rid of some of his toys. After much arguing and negotiating, she helps Spencer make a pile of toys to donate to other children. She leaves Spencer to pack the toys into a box. When she returns, he is playing with...the box. My boys and I loved this one, and I plan to add it to our own collection soon. The illustrations add to the hilarity of the text, but it's the underlying message and truth that make this one a keeper.
